Rochester, NY Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton today joined with New Jobs for New York and the Rochester Institute of Technology to co-host a conference bringing together leaders in the alternative energy industry with top investors and venture capitalists from New York City. The conference, "Alternative Energy in New York Expo2004: Cutting Edge Energy Technologies & Resources," highlights work being done in New York State and showcases opportunities for investment.
"Alternative energy represents extraordinary promise for the economic future of New York State," said Roger Altman, Chairman of the Board of Directors. "New York is a leader in alternative energy technologies and research. The purpose of this expo and of our organization is to build a bridge between industry leaders and investors to create jobs throughout New York State."
Alternative Energy in New York Expo2004 brings investors, cutting edge companies, government officials, and educational institutions together to marshal the business, human, and educational resources of New York for new energy investments. The conference will focus on increasing private sector investment; highlighting cutting-edge technologies; and outlining current grants, funding, programs and policies for New York companies.
"I believe alternative energy has the potential to help New York state regain many of the jobs it's lost and I'm excited to be apart of today's conference," said Senator Clinton . "The focus will be on finding ways to expand this growing industry to create new job opportunities statewide."
The conference will feature panel discussions on "Growing Alternative Energy Companies in New York: Overview," moderated by Senator Clinton; and "Growing Alternative Energy Companies in New York: Incentives, Funding, and Research & Development," moderated by New York State Comptroller Alan Hevesi. The first panel discussion will be followed by a showcase of cutting-edge technology companies in New York and a keynote address by Senator Clinton. Time will also be provided between panel discussions for networking between the technology company representatives and investors.

Testimonials
"As a developer of renewable energy projects in New York, we found the New Jobs for New York Energy Expo highly beneficial. The expo brought together developers, investors, legislators and other energy industry participants, and offered a highly constructive environment to advance the development of our Buffalo area wood biomass to energy project. After the conference ended, New Jobs for New York maintained an ongoing dialogue with us to assist us in reaching our project development goals. Indeed, NJFNY was instrumental in developing significant political support for our project, which ultimately contributed greatly to our receipt of a $1 million dollar grant for our project from the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority."
